Excellent! Just found out that my surge protectors are high enough quality to have an active display that the surge protection is working (apparently, they can wear out): How Stuff Works article on Surge Protectors.

Unfortunately, one of my two key connectors has worn out (the green light is off). I can’t think that these protectors are more than a couple of years old ~ perhaps three, so that suggests a disappointing product. Or perhaps more realistically, disappointing regulation of power supply in my area.
